Private cloud · self-hosted · zero-knowledge

A safe harbor for everything you own.

Harbor turns a computer at home into your private cloud — the convenience of Google Photos and Drive, end-to-end encrypted and actually yours. Your family reaches it from anywhere with no public IP, no router setup, and nothing big tech can read.

The anchor
You own it, it stays put

Your hardware, your data. No account that can be closed, no rent to reach your own memories.

The keyhole
Only you hold the key

End-to-end encryption is the architecture, not a setting. The keys live on your devices — never with us.

The ripples
Reaches every device

A private encrypted overlay carries home to your phone anywhere — no public IP, no port-forwarding.

01 — How it works

One app at home, reachable anywhere.

No server admin, no Docker, no networking knowledge required.

[ install ] 01

Install on a computer at home

A single app runs on a machine you already own — Windows, Linux or macOS. It becomes your private cloud. No command line, no configuration.

[ pair ] 02

Pair each device with a key

Every phone scans a pairing code and gets its own encryption key, then joins a private overlay. From then on it reaches home from anywhere — cellular, café Wi-Fi, anywhere.

[ sync ] 03

Back up & sync, encrypted

Photos back up and files sync automatically. Everything is encrypted on your device before it leaves — and restores byte-for-byte when you need it.

02 — What's inside

Everything the cloud does — at home.

Photos, files, family and recovery — all running on your own hardware.

Photos

Backup that just runs

Automatic background upload, Wi-Fi-only and battery-aware, in original quality. Deduplicated, resumable, photos and video.

Files

An encrypted vault

Client-side encrypted files and folders, sharing within your household, and offline pin for what you need on the go.

Browse

Filter and find, fast

Browse your library by date, type, and favorites — instant thumbnails, entirely on-device, always private.

Family

For the whole household

Enroll each person's devices with their own library, share within your home, and revoke a lost phone in a single tap.

Runs anywhere

One app, your machine

A single cross-platform app for Windows, Linux and macOS — tray plus background service, auto-starting on boot.

Recovery

Yours to get back

A recovery phrase restores your keys and data byte-for-byte. Add optional encrypted off-site backup for peace of mind.

03 — Zero-knowledge

The relay carries ciphertext only.

Your data is sealed on your device. What travels between you and home is encrypted bytes — to us, to the relay, to everyone in between.

Files

Always end-to-end encrypted

Every file is sealed on your device with its own key before it leaves. The server stores ciphertext and verifies it — but holds nothing that can unlock it.

Photos

Always private, always yours

Every photo is encrypted on your device before it leaves — end-to-end, on-device only, exactly like your files.

Security

Standard crypto, no funny business

Built on published, audited primitives — XChaCha20-Poly1305, X25519, Ed25519, Argon2id — the same building blocks security researchers already trust.
